Sep 28 @ 1:15 pm – 2:15 pm

Honour the courage of Terry Fox and give our support to Cancer Research. Terry Fox was a leader, a humanitarian, an innovator, and an inspiration. A celebration assembly will take place Wednesday afternoon at 1:15, followed by a walk/run event in Lynn Fripps Park.

Please dress in “Canadian” gear and/or red and white colours to show support for this worthwhile campaign. Students are encouraged to bring a Toonie to donate to Cancer Research.

Orange Shirt Day: Every Child Matters
Sep 29 @ 8:30 am – 2:00 pm

Orange Shirt Day is a legacy of the St. Joseph Mission residential school commemoration event held in Williams Lake, B.C., started in the Spring of 2013. A young girl, Phyllis, had her bright orange shirt taken away on her first day of school at the Mission.

Orange Shirt Day is also an opportunity for First Nations, local governments, schools and communities tocome together in the spirit of reconciliation and hope for generations of children to work together to prevent anti-racism and anti-bullying behaviours.
